A mostly cloudy Morning, with a Sunny afternoon, saw 5 ‘Diehard’ Cyclists leave Kingston via Kingston Bridge, Hampton Wick, Teddington, Twickenham, Whitton, to Hounslow to meet with the 7 Train loving Cyclists, so 12 continued into a slight Headwind, via West Hounslow, Cranford, Harlington, Sipson, West Drayton, the Slough arm of the Grand Union Canal Towpath, Iver, Love Green, Black Park, Fulmer, to Hedgerley for lunch at ‘the White Horse, then Egypt, Burnham Beeches, with a glorious range of Colours in the Leaves, Burnham, Dorney, Jubilee River Path,( now with a tailwind), Datchet, Wraysbury, Staines, to ‘Notcutts Garden Centre for Tea & Coffee, Laleham, Shepperton, Sunbury, Hampton, Bushy Park, Kingston Bridge. Total 46 Miles, from Hounslow, 52 Miles from Kingston.

Mike ride to Greenwich

Sunday 26th March. A bright day with a chilly blustery wind saw 6 Cyclists remember to put the Clocks forward, leave via Thornton Heath, Selhurst, South Norwood country Park, Elmers end, Clockhouse, the ‘Waterlink way’ including Cator Park, Lower Sydenham, Pool River path, Catford, Ladywell fields, Lewisham, Blackheath, Greenwich Park to Greenwich for lunch at the ‘Pelton Arms’, then Greenwich, a small navigational error,;-(, Deptford, and ‘Quietway 1’ via Folkestone Gardens, South Bermondsey to Burgess Park, Camberwell to Myatts Field Cafe for Tea, then Loughborough Junction, a Larger navigation error ;-( ;-(, Stockwell, Clapham, Streatham, Norbury to return to Pollards Hill. Total 30 Miles

Mike ride to Barnet

Sunday 12th March. With overcast Skies and forecast of a mostly wet day, it was nice to start in the dry, with 5 Guy’s leaving Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park, Earlsfield, King Georges Park, Wandsworth, Putney, Putney Bridge to Bishops Park for an early Coffee stop, then Fulham, Baron’s Court, West Kensington, Shepherds Bush, Under the Westway, North Kensington, Queens Park, Brondesbury- where we had a visit from the ‘P fairy’, the first repair proved to be unsuccessful, & the patched repair only partly working, perhaps due to the Drizzle-, we continued via Cricklewood, a ‘novel route’ avoiding Brent Cross, a very hectic Hendon, Mill Hill, West Finchley,- where the repaired Tube finally gave up, forcing John to head for the Station-, then finding our intended path closed for repair/ rebuilding, Totteridge, the Dollis brook path, to High Barnet for Lunch at a busy ‘Black Horse’, then New Barnet, East Barnet, Oakhill Park & the ‘Pymmes brook’ path, Brunswick Park, Arnos Park, New Southgate, Colney Hatch, Fortis Green, East Finchley, Hampstead Garden Suburb, Golders Green, Childs Hill, Hampstead Cemetery, Kilburn to Brondesbury Park for Trains to Clapham Junction & Richmond. Total 37 Miles

Wednesday 14th December, A Bright sunny day saw 5 intrepid Cyclists gather at Clapham Junction, for the London Overground to Hoxton, with 1 more taking an alternate route to Hoxton, then via a short stretch of the Regents Canal to Victoria Park for an early Coffee stop, more Park, then part of the ‘Hertford Union Canal’, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, & the Velodrome, Leyton, Walthamstow- with a lot of Works still in Progress, -Higham Hill, (with a couple of missed corners, ;-)) River Lea Towpath, Tottenham, Wood green, to Alexandra Palace for lunch at the ‘Boating lake Cafe’, then Parkland walk, Muswell hill, East Finchley, Hampstead Garden Suburb, Golders Green, Cricklewood, Brondesbury Park, West Kilburn, North Kensington, Shepherds Bush, Brook green, Barons Court, Fulham, Bishops Park, Putney Bridge, Wandsworth, King Georges Park, Earlsfield, Wimbledon Park to Wimbledon. Total 34 Miles.

Saturday 27th August, saw a slightly delayed start from New Malden, via Berrylands, Long Ditton, Thames Ditton, Esher, Walton on Thames, Walton bridge, Shepperton, Chertsey bridge, Thorpe, Virginia water for 11’s’s at the Cafe in Windsor great park, then Blacknest gate, Cheapside, Ascot racecourse, North Ascot, Chavey down, Martins Heron, Hanworth, Crowthorne to Finchampstead for lunch at the ‘Queens oak’, then Hogwood, Farley hill, Swallowfield, Beeches hill, Stratfield Mortimer, Padworth common, Aldermaston, Brimpton, Crookham, Greenham common, Greenham to Newbury for Coffee at ‘Tesco’s’, then Wash common to Wash water and the campsite at ‘Oakley farm’. Total 61 Miles. After  pitching the tents a pleasant walk to the ‘Woodpecker’ for dinner.

Sunday 28th August, a cloudy day with some very light Showers, saw our intrepid duo go via Wash common, to Newbury for Breakfast at Wetherspoons, ‘the Hatchet Inn’, then  Speen and the Lambourn valley including Boxford, Easton,

, Ashbury, Bishopstone, Hinton Parva, for lunch in the bus-stop at Wanborough, then a mis-reading of the Map led to the outskirts of Swindon, (but handily avoiding the worst of the rain judging by the puddles encountered later),Liddington, Wanborough plain, Aldbourne, Preston, Whittonditch, Knighton,Chilton Foliat, to Hungerford, for Tea & Cakes at the ‘Tea Shoppe’, then the Kennet & Avon canal towpath to Kintbury, then Kintbury holt, Ball hill, East Woodhay, Enborne Row to Wash water & the Campsite. Total 53 Miles. After walking to the Woodpecker again only to find no Evening food, return to the campsite & Cycle to Newbury & another visit to ‘the Hatchet Inn for Dinner.

Monday 29th August, a bright sunny day saw us strike Camp, then Pound street, West street track, Ecchinswell to Kingsclere for Coffee & Cakes, too early for the ‘Church Fete’, with different objectives for the day, Roger continued alone via Plantation hill,

Hannington, North Oakley, Ashe, Steventon, North Waltham for lunch at ‘the Wheatsheath Inn’, then Axford, Lasham, Shalden green, Golden pot, Upper & Lower Froyle, Bentley, Alice Holt Forest, Rowledge, Wrecclesham, Farnham, Compton, Runfold, the ‘Christmas pie trail’ to Tongham, Ash , Ash Vale to Mytchett and the ‘Basingstoke canal Campsite. Total 52 Miles. After pitching camp, return to Ash Vale via the Canal Towpath for Dinner at ‘the Swan’.

Tuesday 30th August, a glorious Sunny day, meant striking camp, then Pirbright for Breakfast, then Brookwood, Mayford, Old Woking, Send, Send Marsh, East Horsley, Effingham, to Great Bookham for lunch at ‘the Anchor’, then Fetcham, Leatherhead, Ashtead common, Epsom common, Manor park, West Ewell, Hogsmill path, Old Malden to Home. Wednesday 24th August, 10 mad Englishmen Brit’s met outside Woking Station on one of the hottest days of the year, leaving via Woking park, Sutton green, Jacobs well, Riverside country park, Stoke park, Guildford, Littleton, Farncombe, Godalming, (& the ‘Pepperpot’) Busbridge, Hydestile to Hambledon for lunch at the ‘Merry Harriers’, then Witley, Brook, under the Tunnel approach for the A3, to the spectacular views from the ‘Devil’s Punch bowl’, Rushmoor, Tilford, Crooksbury, the Sands to Seale for a well earned Cuppa at the ‘Manor Farm Tea rooms’, then Tongham, Ash green (& the ‘Christmas Pie trail’via Flexford,  to Wood Street village), Broadstreet common, Fairlands, Worplesdon, Mayford, Hook heath, St. John’s, & the Basingstoke canal path to Woking. Total 48 Miles.

Sunday 28th February, a gathering of 6 Cyclists met at the Fountain New Malden, under cloudy skies, with a strong head-wind for most of the morning, leaving via Malden High St., Coombe hill, Ladderstile gate of Richmond park, White lodge, Sheen gate, where 1 more joined us, Mortlake, Chiswick bridge, Grove park, Chiswick, Acton, Acton park, West Acton, Park Royal, Stonebridge park, Wembley, Preston, Kenton, Belmont, (not that one Toni ), to Harrow weald for lunch at ‘the Duck in the pond’, then a ‘steady climb’ to ‘Old Redding’, for a great view of Harrow and other parts of West London, then Headstone, Headstone manor park, West Harrow park, South Harrow, Northolt to ‘Northala fields’ for tea & nibbles, (but no Breadpudding, ;-( ), then Southall, Glade lane, Norwood green, Osterley park, Osterley, Isleworth,  Ducks walk, Richmond bridge, Richmond hill & Terrace, Richmond gate to Kingston gate Norbiton, Mount pleasant to New Malden. Total 44 Miles.
